We are doomed to lose Walmart in the UK as they are to be bought out by Sainsbury’s in order to compete with Aldi/Lidl. I recollect that its slow demise coincided with the removal of greeters — indeed the enterprising use of “disabled” members of society to front some of their stores here in NE Scotland always impressed me.

As for Costco theatre I must pop by and check such (for the first time) when I am out in Mall-land in the western suburbs of Aberdeen, but you have hardly recommended it.

The closest thing we have to Amazon Go here I guess is the newish Macdonald’s big self service screens at the entrance to their emporia. I am a fan of theirs and suffer the UI but hanker after the friendly service of What-a-burger and other family franchises in Texas when I visit there.
