Coronavirus in Scotland: Hothouse education: pupils set to return in garden polytunnels
Schoolchildren face being taught in geodomes and polytunnels in order to maintain social distancing under new plans to…
Children would be split into two groups under the plans. One group would go to school on Monday and Tuesday, with the second group attending on Thursday and Friday. Wednesday would be used for teachers to prepare and for the classrooms to be deep-cleaned.
At last some practical proposals — sadly lacking in the just published John Swinney 39 page guide. There is merit of watching how these English ideas pan out next week, but clearly 2 out of 5 days a week attendance is going to cause problems. But it’s cheap.
Using strawberry poly-tunnels will actually make money; the children could pick the fruit — ideal preparation for their future Scottish world of work.
Coronavirus in Scotland: Sturgeon lifts limits for friends and family

Friends and family across Scotland will be able to meet outdoors in groups of eight for a socially distanced barbecue or picnic today after Nicola Sturgeon confirmed that she was relaxing lockdown restrictions.
Curious that today I can have a BBQ in Scotland but need to wait til Monday to do so in England see TOL top news story:
“Groups of 6 can meet outside from Monday”
NHS England are using private hospitals so maintained to administer chemotherapy. A commendable cooperation between the NHS and PHPs. The FM of Scotland declined an offer of beds / facilities from our PHPs. Only she knows why.
And we won’t find out if our local journos don’t ask and the likes of Willie Rennie (who I used to like) use up his FMQs question to ask about some Durham Dad with a sick family. Goodness has he gone over to the SNP
→G Adamson. STAY at HOME is/was still the advice. As the first question at the #10 Press Brief showed shielding is still key. This is a “vicious virus”. Who & how are “healthy over — 70s” assessed/validated ? GP surgeries are still shut. & With pre-symptomatic, asymptomatic plus an estimated only 7% of UK population already with virus and potentially hence immune, I am not sure many NHS want to risk home visits. I think the media let the Public down yesterday going on about Cummings. Your good question has been obscured in the media frenzy
LETTERS: PLAGUE SIMILARITIES In preparation for the re-opening of my local recycling centre I came across an old newspaper from April with an article on Sir Hugh Pennington, the expert in Scotland ignored by the SNP. He wrote that since this new virus was not like Spanish Flu there is unlikely to be a second wave — time will tell.
LETWIN: I think Boris decided such with the last “illegitimate” question from the Belfast Newsletter reporter. There should be a rule introduced: when the Press start swearing the time to move on is upon us. Amen
ScotAPP: The nice map of my Covid App: Alert-Swiss has shown no ! notifications for days across one mountainous country in central Europe. What happened in the Isle of Wight to cause so many delays to Alert-UK.
