I did similar for my first job: Intel, Signetics, Xerox PARC. I only got one offer, the last, being a Cavalier the Intel Roundhead (cf Englich Civil War) was too strict for me and the group who had generously sponsored my trip left to form a startup soon afterwards.

Interestingly someone I know just did a round of interviews focusing on tier 2. She did not try Google (Amazon yes), nor Facebook but went for a handful of companies that all offered her jobs and has settled on a mid-size with good team vibes in a part of London. I asked, as my Dad had to me: “Do you want to be a big fish in small pool or vice versa”. Such a question was batted aside as not being relevant in today’s world …
